Johnnie believes your government should work for you —not the other way around. He lives by a core belief: “Our neighbors are the board of directors.” That conviction guides everything he does—from entrepreneurship to education to public service.
 
Johnnie’s message is simple and clear: South Carolina needs leaders who listen, lead with values, and deliver results. Over the last two decades, Johnnie has successfully started and exited 6 independent and private businesses.  Serving thousands of patients and families and employing hundreds throughout South Carolina his consortium of companies raised the standards of healthcare in SC and was recognized time and again for quality outcomes, innovation and as one of the best places to work.  After exiting his businesses, Johnnie became a sought-after keynote speaker on quality of life, a published author, and a trusted voice on leadership, innovation, and culture where he continues to pour into others. He has served as a professor at Columbia International University and will soon be serving at Charleston Southern University, shaping tomorrow’s leaders with the wisdom of business and leadership acumen challenging others to lead with both courage and compassion. His service has continued through his roles on the boards of United International Ministries and the Gravity Center Entrepreneur Network.
