The campaign is built on three pillars. Everything Johnnie will fight for in Columbia comes back to these commitments.

01  INFRASTRUCTURE: Roads Before Rooftops.

Families on James Island, Johns Island and Folly Beach lose hours every week to gridlock while the state manages 42,000 miles of roads from Columbia and our secondary roads go neglected. Johnnie will fight for real concurrency so new development never outruns the roads, drainage, sidewalks and schools that serve it, for local control of local infrastructure dollars, and for a simple rule: growth pays for growth. 

02  CONSERVATION: Preserve the Lowcountry.

Our marshes, beaches and waterways are the reason we live here, and unchecked development puts them all at risk. Johnnie will protect our natural resources, fund beach renourishment for Folly and our barrier islands, and empower local communities to decide how their own neighborhoods grow. The coastal character of the Lowcountry is not for sale.

03  AFFORDABILITY: Take Care of Our Own.

South Carolina sits near the bottom of the nation in long term care while families juggle childcare and aging parents at the same time. Johnnie founded six healthcare companies that served thousands of seniors across this state, and he will put that experience to work lowering healthcare costs, protecting hospital access for the islands and helping seniors age at home with dignity. And one promise above all: no child should be hungry in the state of South Carolina.
